While the Dark Powers Ponder in their Sinister Towers...

batch_rollerAs I wait to hear back from both Apple and Amazon about the Crawler's Companion going live in the app stores, I've been making some progress on the new features. I have the batch roller about wrapped up and I'm now locked in mortal combat with the 'battle master' initiative and hit point tracker.

It's been lovely to experience a bit of creative energy again as my health improves. :)

Here's a screen cap of the new batch roller screen.

  1. Welcome back! I recently had an injury myself and know that it can take a while to recover any kind of normality.

Dice roller looks interesting. Found it a little difficult to parse at first glance, but my interpretation is that when you press "Roll Dice", all the numbers in that screen randomize (except for the dice labels themselves, ie. d3, 2d3, d8, 2d8, etc). So the workflow would be to just press roll dice and then read the values you need for what you're doing. Interesting take on the dice roller.

For the "script roll", I suggest taking a look at rolz.org. They have an awesome macro system. One of my favorite features is the multiple roll, 1d20+2;1d8+2 awesome for rolling hit and damage simultaneously.

That said, I personally would get much more use out of a good init tracker. Looking forward to checking it out.

  2. Yep, it just batch rolls everything at once and you take what you need.

Thanks for pointing out rolz: I'll give it a look. Right now the script handles a limited set of inputs. Examples:
    3d6
    3d6+7
    2d7-6
    99 //rolls 1-99
    45&55 //rolls a number between 45 and 55

You can put as many commands on the line that will fit (separated by spaces) and it will add them up. I'll look into the option of having multiple outputs for separate die rolls. :)

  3. Will there be an app for spell duels as well? That's the one mechanic in the game I'm dreading to run...

  4. Hmmm, I remember pondering that early on in the process, and for some reason determining that was a problem best left unexplored... :)

When I have some time I'll give it another look.

  5. Oh, nice. Like the spaces as a delimiter for a set to sum.
